Life brings us many things: deep joy, profound sadness, peaceful balance all with plenty of opportunities to learn something.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the emotion or feeling of irritation lately.
What purpose does irritation serve?
It is an uncomfortable place that makes all humans want to crawl out of their skin, scream, explode…
How can we turn those unproductive feelings into productive ones?
I think that irritation serves as a mirror to something we are uncomfortable about in ourselves.
The next time you begin to feel annoyance, anger or frustration with someone else, look deep inside yourself.
Are you getting upset by this person because you have a tendency to do something similar on occasion?
The moment your begin to feel upset…again…step back. Lean in to the discomfort and see if it resonates deep inside.
Then, smile.
Know that this is the Universe’s way of bringing up a lesson for us to grow and better our being through the actions of another.
Use irritation as a method to serve your highest self. To improve. To begin to reflect your shining soul a little brighter back into the world.
