The air tickled my nose with sweetness. Could it be the fresh picked cherries and huckleberries, or the pine? Maybe, it’s just the air out there—as fresh as a mountain stream.
The atmosphere here encourages collaboration between all four seasons at once. The shining, hot summer sun, a crisp fall breeze, the snow-capped mountains of winter, and blooming flowers of spring.
Montana is magical.
I dare you to spend any amount of time here and not be refreshed, renewed, and recharged in body, mind, and spirit.
My vacation with my husband was oh, so wonderful.
After a 3:30 a.m. wakeup call, and a few flights later…we arrived in Bozeman, Montana in the late morning. Much to our surprise (and later delight), our ‘economy rental car’ turned out to be a 2012 cherry red convertible Camaro. Oh brother.
Of course, it turned out to be a huge gift. With the top down, sight lines are more magnificent, you get a LOT of vitamin D, and your hair dances with enthusiasm in the wind! All in all…it was a great thing…except when a GRIZZLY BEAR ran (full out, thank goodness!) in front of our drop-top. Amazing to experience that, though!
Honestly, most days were filled with the same things: coffee and a cheesy egg breakfast sandwich (for sustaining all that exploration!), heading to Glacier National Park (or the Gallatin Canyon area when we were in the south), driving, hiking, snacking on crackers and cheese, snapping pictures, listening to Willie’s Roadhouse on XM, showering, dinner consisting of a buffalo burger, fries, and salad, and finally, bed.
This vacation was beautifully simple and pure. And look…big smiles all around!
Next week, I’ll be sharing a simple list of my favorite things to do in Montana!
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!
PS: This totally counts as bliss for the week, right!?
Makes me want a red Camaro convertible:).
🙂 xo!
Sounds like all sorts of bliss to me!!! Glad you had such a great time xx
Glad you think so too! Thanks Lorinda 🙂
It’s been 7 years and far too long since we first vacationed in Glacier, but simply reading your blog about it helped renew that magic that we also found to be so absolutely revitalizing. Thank you! Keep sharing…. we’ll keep reading. 🙂
P.S. We’ve booked our room for Many Glacier Hotel again for next summer 2013. Can’t wait!
Oh wonderful!! Thank you for taking the time to be here – glad I was able to really share the magic!
LUCKY YOU – maybe we’ll see you there! Thanks for being here!
