Raise your hand if you had a great week! OK, I see a lot of folks, and maybe some who are a little unsure.
Guess what? You still have time to make it a great week if you peek a little further into the details. There has to be some great stuff if you really think about it!
Here are four of my favorite things from my unique week! What are yours?
1. Date day!
Bryan and I took road trip to Hudson, WI on Saturday. Getting to explore even just a half hour out of the city is total bliss for me. I jump right into vacation mode and have the ability to better focus on the ever-fleeting here and now.
We sat on the patio of Pier 500 overlooking the St. Croix river for a leisurely lunch. It’s so great to feel the warm breeze on your face while sipping a glass of sauvignon blaunc and laughing with your hubby. Then we partook in a little antique shopping and stopped for ice cream at Knoke’s Chocolates. I LOVE spumoni (chocolate, strawberry, and pistachio), and this rendition was extra yummy.
Any quality time spent with my husband is time well spent.
2. Flutter, flutter
You know what makes my heart fly? Seeing beautiful monarch butterflies!
It seems around my neighborhood, the winged beauties are all around. I think of them as little winged angels; messengers of good luck, and happiness.
It’s so comforting to see them!
3. Freaky Frank
My dog has the most interesting personality. I think it’s because he’s a Gemini — he’s loud, he’s quiet, he’s a homebody, he’s a trouble maker. You never know what you’re going to get!
But we always know what to expect after we give him a bath. He totally freaks out after we’ve scrubbed him down and patted him dry, check it out:

We call this phenomenon “getting the zoomies”—does your dog do this!? I love seeing him so excited!
4. Happy people all around
On two occasions this week, I have encountered extremely happy people at some of my most frequented stops.
At the Holiday gas station down the road, Bryan and I stopped to get a little frozen yogurt. As we approached the counter, the clerk remarked, “Looks like a sweet treat for some sweet hearts!” And he ran off to get us two spoons for our treat. This made us so happy to know that there are tender, loving people in the least expected places!
It was very quiet in one of the Caribou Coffee shops near my house. As I entered, I used the silence to flip-flop about my drink order, as the barista seemed to beam, “I just LOVE your dress.” I was wearing a clay, turquoise, and white maxi dress with a southwestern flare. “It totally reminds me of Arizona, where I used to live,” he continued, “and you’re wearing TURQUOISE!” Seriously, gotta love it when someone “sees” you!
These simple interactions lead to great conversations with strangers. I’ve got to do more of this!

Such a wonderful (and rather tasty sounding) list Blair! I love the video of your puppy. My cats do that as well, only they run all over furniture while they do it and for no seemingly apparent reason. So funny to watch! Have another blissful week! xx
