One of my favorite ways to feel all springy from the inside-out is to eat my greens!
I’m always looking for more ways to consume the proper amount of fresh green veggies every day, so the last few months, I have been adding a superfood smoothie into my daily routine!
There are many green machine smoothie recipes out there, but I think this one really takes the cake…err…kale! 😉
Kickstart go green week with this healing green smoothie:
1/4 – 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1/4 cup applesauce
1 handful of fresh spinach or kale
1 heaping spoonful of coconut oil
1 spoonful of raw, unsalted almond butter
1 spoonful of chia seeds
1 heaping scoop of green powder of your choice (I use Green Vibrance!)
It’s filled with protein, healthy fats, antioxidants, fiber, probiotics (in the green powder) omega 3s and of course, greens! And, if you’re worried about that somewhat overwhelming “green powder taste” — not to worry — this guy is all almond-y and bright.

Next up for tomorrow. . .the spring equinox!
Yum… can’t wait to try this, Blair! Love the addition of coconut oil 🙂
Let me know what you think! Yes – I was happy with the coconut oil addition too – it was a little on accident but I’m glad it made it in there 🙂
I LOVE green smoothies. My go to is always spinach (or kale), coconut milk beverage, chia seeds, frozen raspberries and kiwis. I almost always need raspberries. Though…I made one with pineapple, orange, lemon (spinach etc.) last week and it was amazing! The possibilities are endless really. I also freeze any left overs in my popsicle maker for immediate, healthy snacks later. Okay…off to the blender…I like the coconut oil addition too xx
Wow! Those sound so bright and yummy! I have got to try kiwi – I’ve never had it in a smoothie before – yum!
Yum, what a treat. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I never would have thought of adding almond butter or coconut oil in a smoothie. I often put in a small handful of almonds. I look forward ending my Master Cleanse so I can try your recipe… and to be able to eat the Paleo Bread recipe you had shared. My oh my that is that one great recipe. 🙂
It tastes like a treat! I have been a big lover of actually consuming coconut oil these days – it really is so healing for your insides and great for low thyroid! Ooh…yes, you will love it after the cleanse – and be sure to have a slice of banana bread with it too! 🙂
