Every Friday, I celebrate the lovely little bits of bliss that happened throughout my week!
It’s a great way to bear hug that attitude of gratitude! Join me!
In light of the week, I have been able to find some bright spots…here are the bits of bliss I’ve found:
- I was re-energized at my very first Pow Wow experience. To say I was excited to go would be an understatement. I’ve always felt pulled toward the Native American culture, and I got to experience a magical part of their culture during a “family reunion” at Wacipi 2012. As I sat in the stands eating a bison burger and taking in the colorful and powerful opening dance, I couldn’t help but tear up. I love knowing that we have our immediate family, but also a greater extension of family in this world. Beautiful. I also found this happy bracelet:
- While at the Pow Wow, a wonderful friend bought me some South Dakota sage and an abalone shell to help me smudge. I cannot wait to cleanse myself and my home with my gorgeous sage!
- Bryan and I had an awesome “date day…” we sipped on a sea salt caramel latte (my FAVE!), played putt putt in the afternoon, and headed downtown for a glass of prosecco at Oceanaire and some nosh at Ike’s. I want more days like that. 🙂
- I started running again after the “go ahead” from the doc. Sweating is one of my favorite feelings (crazy, right?)…I KNOW I’m doing something good for my body! Now…if I could only run longer than 15 minutes…in time…
- My sweet little Frankie was featured on Peace Begins With Me’s Heroes Wanted blog!
He’s a peaceful pup that is sharing his doggy wisdom with the world about being a hero with his best friend (my parents’ dog Charlie), check it out!

Lovely bliss list Blair. I Love that you experienced a Pow Wow. I’ve never been to one. I also sense a strong connection to the Native American culture and their ceremonies. There’s something powerful that draws me in. Enjoy the sage and smudging. A friend wrote about smudging this week in a blog post and when I get back home from a vacation it’s on my to-do list, I haven’t done it in a while. It makes such a difference.

Hi Suzanne – why, thank you 🙂 I’m happy to hear that – it’s such a beautiful culture, and great to connect with someone who feels similar! Happy smudging ;)!
