Being a warrior of light means…

Being a spiritual person doesn’t mean you’re perfect and not allowed to make mistakes.

Being a spiritual person means when you do make mistakes, you learn the lesson, correct yourself, embrace love at all costs, and move forward with renewed passion and purpose.

This last month has been crazy hard for a lot of people. More and more are awakening and rubbing their sleepy eyes as they feel the light beam into the room and they’ve found they cannot pull the covers over their head any longer. At first, it can be scary to feel the light because you’re changing and transforming into someone new. Not only you, but everyone around you, and society and our culture as well. We see evidence of this in the news everywhere…we’re in an evolution revolution. I know you sense it.

Lean in to your warrior light. See what magic it holds! A spiritual warrior like yourself is here to help shift and change the world, but it doesn’t mean that growing pains will be absent. It’s best to make friends with new perspectives, ask for help with being open to change, trust that life is unfolding exactly as it is meant to. Learn something new. Strive for this every day and we will all be better and better spiritual beings living a human existence!

And never, ever forget that you are wrapped in the most cushy, comfortable love filled bubble wrap ever!

You are a masterpiece

No matter how small your beginning,

You have no limits on your greatness.

One fluffy white cloud floating in the sky can become a masterpiece.

You are needed to create that one-of-a-kind cotton candy work of art.

So, be exactly who you are…big or small.

Both are perfect.

But, if you’re not exactly who you are right now, ask to be divinely lead to your purpose.

You are not alone, and you do not have to find your purpose all by your lonesome.

There is a chorus of angels waiting for you to ask their help.

Think of them as your buddies, your executive team, your confidants, your biggest cheerleaders, your bouncers of anything that’s standing in your way.

Unlock your greatness and share it with the world…whatever that may be.

And in the midst of your journey,

Don’t forget to look up and and marvel at the masterpiece that you are creating,

and that you are.

There’s no use in trying + time is of no essence

Sometimes the best action is inaction.

When the world gives you grey and drizzle and a chill in the air, all we want is sunshine, warmth, and blue skies.

Most of us are incapable of truly seeing and accepting the beauty in the “imperfect.”

It’s impossible to force nature to mind our terms. No matter how much we whine and beg, the grey will linger as long as it needs to. Nature’s soul song is one of inaction and allowance.

This song is sung so sweetly when life is allowed to happen on its own. Where time is of no essence, trying is of no use, and where gratitude comes in the moment of growth, not gain.

Just like a beautiful flower in spring, budding and stretching, waking up and reaching for the sky — it will bloom without trying, on it’s own time, without pleading, plodding, and wondering why it didn’t bloom yesterday!

Often, life gives us times where we need to practice loving our imperfections.

“Why didn’t I get that job?” “Will I ever lose those ten pounds?” “How come I never have enough money in the bank?” “I don’t feel motivated to do anything.” “Nothing ever works out the way I want it to.” “Why am I always getting sick?”

We focus so intently on being (and staying) uncomfortable. Staying in a place of sadness, anger, and confusion is like wrapping up in a comfy sweater that at first seems to keep us warm, but soon it becomes very itchy and it’s all we can focus on. Yet we refuse to take the sweater off for fear that it is our only means to staying warm…and shielded, and “normal.”

But the real normal is accepting the discomfort and knowing it is a part of life. If we take off our “sweater” life will give us other options to keep us “warm.”

It will also allow us to know that life brings all of us (yes, even the people you right now think have mastered perfection in their lives) a balance of discomfort and comfort, happiness and sadness, a time for action and a time for rest. A part of our mission in this world is to find the gap in between comfort and discomfort. Here is where we are meant to thrive, in our most natural state: balance.

It is a tender space that brings flow, allowance, and acceptance of all of life’s idiosyncrasies. Balance is divine comfort, the sweater that keeps us warm, but never gets itchy or uncomfortable.

The balance is where you allow life to happen to you; you don’t happen to life.

We don’t have to always be so strong, powerful, in control, and take charge as we think we do. Step back and see the perfection in the perceived lack. And realize, deeply and humbly, that we are supported in every way and let go of any feelings of lack. Release the need to fix immediately, numb your pain, mask your feelings, and so on. Simply sit in the gap and reflect on its beauty.

Back to those above “imperfections,” also see the the lesson or opportunity for change in the questions and negative self-talk. If nothing is changing with the methods your applying to induce change, seek to go deeper into the root cause of the discomfort. Possibly if you’re not acquiring a job as quickly as you had hoped, is there something on a soul-level that you need to focus on before you begin focusing on another job? Or in a relationship, if you’re not finding a soulmate and having a difficult time meeting anyone, maybe this is the opportunity to truly love yourself first, then your mate will arrive.

Don’t be afraid to dive in deep inside, that’s where you keep your light. Because some of us are used to being in the dark, looking at our light may actually be frightening at first. But don’t be. It is there for you to discover and share. Remember, the cracks are how the light gets in. Our discomfort is a blessing in disguise.

Ultimately, know that everything will work out in the best way for you. Try not to kick and scream like a toddler in the toy aisle at Target, because in that, you are pushing against the natural flow of life.

We are all blooming, every day, and though the process may look different than others around you, know that you too will bloom.

Your petals will unfurl, your face will turn toward the sun, and you will see the pure perfection that is the process of letting go and knowing that you indeed did not need to do anything in order to grow.

Even though my book was started long ago, this quote recently jumped out at me as I was devouring information for my writing.

It’s so funny how something you never knew existed can become a cornerstone piece of your inspiration, drive, and desire.

These words capture, in just a few lines, exactly what my book is about.

A simple synchronicity like this, makes my spirit sing. It illuminates for me that we are all connected to this magical thing called Source, and the Universal truths in this world are the same…they’re just said, spoken, sung, painted, danced, in slightly different ways.

I cannot wait to share my book with all of you. I hope that it will bring you great joy, as it already has for me!

A quick recap of my time in the Black Hills writing this book: amazing. I accomplished more than I expected and am still in spark mode — little things popping up, asking to be talked about, explored, and put on paper. Nurtured by nature

Thank you today (and every day) to the Earth.

Over the past five years or so, I have re-fallen in love with nature and the endless beauty, peace, and connectedness that I receive from it.

I absolutely adore John Muir and his beautiful teachings he received from the Earth. The above quote is so true. You expect greatness and grandeur when you’re in nature, but nature gives you so much more than just a pretty sight to look at. It is restorative. It is church. It is life.

Just like the photo, as I walked in Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota, I did not expect to encounter this humble bison. But it taught me that the Earth not only gives life to us, but to all creatures, plants, and life forces that inhabit this planet.

Earth is the ultimate giver. Let’s love her…a lot. Like she loves all of us.
