If you think you can’t take a solo trip, you can’t. But if you think you can take a solo trip, you CAN!
-
Leaping with your heart will make your soul bubble over with possibility
-
Be present, be open and enjoy the highs and lows
-
Let go of expectations and go with the flow
-
Eat and explore where the locals frequent
-
Put a damn smile on your face! It’s not only contagious to others, but it will quietly encourage happiness and joy in yourself!
-
Come with a plan, but also be prepared to fly by the seat of your pants (sometimes it’s more fun that way!)
-
If you think people are staring, they aren’t
-
If you think you look like a tourist, you most likely do
-
It’s not bad to look like a tourist, just have fun
-
Living outside of your comfort zone helps your heart, mind and soul to grow
-
Trader Joe’s is a snack God-send (Powerberries, broccoli with hummus and buffalo jerky are key!)
-
Get up, get out and move your bod if all else fails
-
You are going to very paranoid about where your rental car keys are until day 3 of 7
-
There are many like-minded, open-hearted and kind people if you open up
-
It’s nice not to wear makeup for a week (if your soul needs to breathe, so does your skin!)
-
Wine tastes just as delicious out of Styrofoam cups
-
Singing on an open road (especially Huey Lewis and the News tunes) is very cathartic
-
True love will take on another meaning once you return; the support and encouragement from friends and family runs deep
-
YOU can do it! You CAN do it! You can DO IT!
I admire this solo trip. On my life list.
Thanks so much, DeAnne. It’s SO great for your soul! 🙂
