Breathing room with words from Marianne Williamson…
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God!
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world!
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

This is one of my favorite meditations. When I am looking for comfort in my own confidence or a simple reminder that I am on this Earth for a reason, I keep these words close to my heart. And, I even have it framed in my bedroom as a gentle reminder whenever I need it (and even when I don’t).
Especially in these times of change, it is a good reminder that the world needs YOU right NOW! Yes, seriously…keep your light shining bright for all to see!

Marianne Williamson….I absolutely love this poem and have a copy of it above my desk at work. It is a great reminder to embrace your uniqueness, let your personality shine, and always be the best person you can possibly be.

Beautiful poem (I may have to frame it for my office, too!)… thanks for the reminder! It reminds me of something my favorite yoga teacher said in class once: You are resilient beyond measure.

I like that a lot too – resilience is something we often forget we have 🙂
