Road Trip Recap :: Little Bliss List 6.8.12!

Oh boy, do I feel refreshed! I am so happy that I took a little time for myself this week and got out of Dodge.

This week, my sister, Jordan, and I took an impromptu road trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Here’s my Little Bliss List this week in pictures from our trip:

{pit stop staple}
{made a new friend}
{natural beauty}
{one of the best hikes in Custer State Park}
{happy hikers}
{wise words}
{home, home on the range}
{hungry, hungry burros}
{relaxing at Prairie Berry Winery}

Our three days were made up of driving, consuming too much coffee, staring out into the wild yonder of the western plains, chatting, taking bathroom breaks, laughing, listening to stand-up to keep us awake, snaking away on turkey jerky, broccoli, ginger chews and apples, hoping we could catch a glimpse of the transit of Venus (no such luck…staring directly into the sun is a bad idea!), exploring Custer State Park, hiking, feeding burros from our car, getting lost, rock hunting, feeling on top of the world from Mount Coolidge (elev: 6023), drinking wine at Prairie Berry Winery, and simply, enjoying. It. was. awesome.

I hope you had a wonderful week, too. I’d love to hear what kind of bliss you experienced!

Have a happy weekend, everyone!

      So glad she’s back! Nothing like 18 hours in a car for a little quality time 🙂

    You brought back some happy memories for me remembering Custer State park and our visit there although we did not have a burro stick his head in our car window.

    I love the feed burros pic! I’ve never made a road trip through South Dakota, but have heard great things. Your photo of the pine tree dotted hills is beautiful. Sounds like you had a awesome time! It definitely makes me want to take a road trip and soon!

    Gorgeous Bliss List! The road trip sounds amazing, and all the more so for featuring names I’ve only ever heard in songs, like “The Black Hills of Dakota” and gettin’ out of Dodge… it WAS John Wayne, wasn’t it? Thanks for sharing. Namaste, Lesley
