Let’s take a look at a few themes that are popping up for this pre-spring renewal that’s happening this year. Quick hint: we’re going to be doing a lot of reviewing.
February has been (and is) a noisy month.
So many emotions swirling and summoning your attention. Clamoring, calling, convincing you of feelings you thought were long gone. Is this true for you? Are you feeling like a lot of the past (especially some past stuff from 2012) is coming up for review and reevaluation? It is for me. I’m having almost an identical experience as I did in January and February of 2012. You can read about it here.
Remember back in 2012 when we thought some big shift was going to bang into earth and we’d all be changed for the better and enlightened immediately? Yeah, me too…but I kinda also figured that 2012 was just the beginning of the “great shift.” It’s true, we’re in the midst of that big shift cycle, and even though it may not feel like it all the time, we’re waaaaaaay more in-touch with our true, authentic selves than even just four years ago or heck, two months ago. Right!? Well, we are changed and we are more enlightened, so why the discomfort still? It seems never-ending.
Think of it in terms of pregnancy and labor. There has to be some discomfort (contractions) before the birth (we too are in a way being “reborn”). We’ve been pushing our new selves front and center for many years, but in this Universal nine year, we’re close to being able to meet our new life.
Please know though that with this life, there won’t be a black-and-white beginning and end to this all. We are in “Earth school” and we will be until we leave this world. That can seem daunting to some (I know it is for me sometimes) but my best advice would be just to accept it for what it is.
I practice yoga and I love the philosophy of acceptance. When you’re in that really tough position (eagle!) or seemingly easy one but your mind starts to chatter, assess the situation and more often than not, it is your mind that speaks up first and says “I CAN’T DO THIS ANYMORE!” Stop. Reflect. And ask yourself, well, why not? Accepting and acknowledging discomfort is the first step in making it go away. Ya’ll…this is hard work. There’s *no* doubt about it. But we are physically, emotionally, and spiritually designed to handle it. I promise.
There will be times where you feel like you just can’t anymore. Can’t human today. Bye. This happens to me at least once a week (at least). Step back and review yourself from the perspective of your soul. This next part really gets you back in touch…take three deep breaths. For some this will be easy, for others (like me), it can be hard to get into that rhythm. Center yourself and take the biggest breaths you can and then ask…in this moment, am I OK? Breathing? Safe? Warm? Let’s aim for all “yes” answers. Then, move into the center of your being, and find that space of safety and comfort. Stay there as long as you need. That is all you require in this moment.
Tying it all together, this pre-spring season is all about reviewing and pruning what no longer is needed in your life. This can be uncomfortable. Accept it and when you’ve gathered all you need from those feelings, you will begin to renew just in time for spring.
March will be a month to recalibrate, gain momentum, and will show us what the rest of 2016 will look and feel like.
Heads up that March is the start of our eclipse season. There are two in March. The first is a total solar eclipse on March 8/9 (depending where you are) and a lunar eclipse on March 23. This is another reason why there is so much up for review. Eclipses help us first and foremost cleanse and gain clarity. This process starts right about now (two or so weeks before the eclipse).
Eclipses have a profound pull on our consciousness and raise our vibration significantly if we allow it. Give yourself the gift of acknowledging where you’ve come from and where you’re headed. Both are worthy of our respect and adoration of self.
Use this powerful time to look at your life and see what you’ve let go of (honor that) and where you’d like to go (ask for guidance and assistance).
You’ve come a long way, baby. And we’ve got a long way to go, so let’s enjoy the ride.
