Let it flow

Every moment of every day — of every year — of every lifetime, you are guided. You are asked to journey on the most beautiful, deep, inviting river that you’ve ever seen that flows right beneath the surface yet stretches through every part of your soul. This guidance assists you on your spiritual, emotional, and physical journey and its wisdom will never leave you.

In this moment, we are being asked to reconnect to our energetic flow. The flow that is our true divine faith and femininity. It is a vast and never-ending spring within all of us.

letitflow

Why is this flow so important? Maybe you’ve felt tired, slow, unmotivated, not disciplined, you name it…this is that divine river flowing within you, safely ushering you through a part of the journey that asks you to experience all those feelings. It is the divine feminine calling to you…saying “Don’t push. Enjoy the ride.” By experiencing fully feelings of quiet, mellow, stillness, we are able to grow and better learn to flow.

Right now this is a big topic for most. I’ve been feeling this way no question. So I ask, what is working under the surface for you? Where in the river do you find yourself? Can you be there? Fully? Maybe not…and I get it…we all have those “pesky” Earthy duties like bills and kids to keep us grounded. But when you have those moments of tired or unmotivated, just be in it. Or make time for it. Even a simple five minutes spent with your eyes closed and going within will do. Maybe you can find a way to say thank you to your inner river guide. We can’t do this alone. So, let your inner guide do what it needs to do.

So my wish for you (and me) is to let it flow. You can even think of it like what we always say: “Let it go.” But try shifting “go” to “flow” and see the transformational shift happen. It may be subtle at first, but look for those little signs of encouragement along the way.

What can you do today to flow? Take it easy on yourself. You are doing the best you can with what you have in this moment. And if this moment asks you to surrender, do so with confidence and joy. Someday you will be flowing faster…just not today.

I’m here to tell you…there’s something else

Yesterday we lost a legend, Prince.

He transcends space, time, and our earthy ways.

So many artists do.

That’s why it is so hard to lose them (and we’ve lost a lot of them this year).

DearlyBeloved

All day I have been on the edge of tears. Real, tingly, stinging-your-eyes-tears.

Why does this happen so often when the creatives decide to leave us behind and move on to the afterworld?

Why do we get so emotional even when we don’t know them personally?

It’s because they get us. They’ve been there when the highs are high and the lows are low. They help us get through this thing called life 🙂 They have the magic ability to combine beauty with pain. This magic allows us to genuinely move out of our ego and into our souls in order to accept what is happening in our life at the very moment they enter it. They give us the gift of being able to find our true selves at our core.

This is hard. Losing someone who knows us is hard.

These artists were partly put on this earth to help us all transcend space, time, and our earthy ways. To remember where we came from and where we will eventually go home.

Music is church. It brings us together, it brings us home, it brings us comfort when we need it most.

Thank you to Prince and all the artists who help us find ourselves and each other.

I don’t want to be the best

I don’t want to be the best at anything. Really! Am I crazy? Maybe. But that’s not what I strive for. It’s hard to silence the feeling of wanting to be the best or fully recognized or completely understood, but I’ve finally realized I have a much bigger purpose and you do too! My purpose is not to be the best. My purpose is all about presence. Here are some of the things that I offer the world (and I bet you do too).

PRESENCE

I am here to make a difference.

I am here to inspire change.

I am here to help myself and others find ease.

I am here to uncover magic.

I am here to hold space for authentic presence.

I am here to befriend the soul speakers and angel whisperers.

I am here to trailblazer and encourage people to join me.

I am here to advocate for wellness in all areas of life.

I am imperfect and I oughta be.

I am grateful.

What would you add? I would truly love to hear your ‘I am’ statements of love!

If you can’t beat fear…

You guys. I’m feeling you. There’s a lot of fear right now.

Politics. Personal life. Relationships. Raising kiddos. Purpose. Everything feels as it is up for review, and it really is.

If you can't beat fear, just do it scared.

I want you to know you’re not alone and we will get through this together. We’re all climbing the same mountain.

And even with the wind blowing in our face and with a path that isn’t perfectly paved, we’re doing it. Life, that is. With the unfavorable conditions at the moment, we still keep moving. It’s part of our purpose…to forge on the path ahead even when it seems impossible. With each small step, we are moving onward and upward. Slowly, steadily, one more step, one more lesson, one more breakthrough.

So keep walking your path even if you are scared. Yes, we are all climbing the same mountain, but we don’t all take the same path. Don’t worry about someone else’s. Continue ahead on your own unique and perfect journey. Even if you have to do it with fear, do. Eventually, it will pass. And eventually, it will come again. Learning to weather the storms will be one of our greatest achievements. It will get easier when you know that storms are well, just storms. None last forever. Neither will fear.

Friends, you’ve got this. We’ve got this. Let’s learn to love each other through the storms and the fear and the insecurity of this grand thing called life. Fear may never go away, but we can learn to trust that it is designed to make us better.

Marketing with mindfulness

There are so many mediums to think about these days when you’re marketing your small business. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, YouTube, Periscope, LinkedIn, Google+, blogging…the list is endless.

Mindful marketing

How do you keep pace with all of them? Or do you? How do you promote your business without it overcoming your life? How do you showcase your stuff without sacrificing integrity and your true purpose? Well, I hope I can help. And I’ll start with this…and *warning*  it’s pretty shocking.

Don’t use every social media platform.

REALLY. Unless you’re super, duper drawn to it, and have unlimited time, I think you should choose two or three that you genuinely ENJOY!

How do you find those special two or three? Here’s some help…

Market with genuine joy.

Joy is contagious yet false joy is easy to spot. What makes your heart sing? Is it photos? Try Instagram and Pinterest! Is it writing? Use Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, and Twitter. Is it video? Use Periscope, Snapchat, and Facebook. Stay true to you. Again…it is so easy to get caught up in “whatever everybody else is doing.” But that’s not you. You’re a trailblazer, so go your own way, darlin’.

Seize the moment, but also know when to schedule the moment.

There are some serious time savers to marketing if you seek them. I won’t bury you with options, as I tend to stick with an old faithful…Hootsuite. If you’re not familiar, it’s a social media management dashboard that allows you to schedule your posts across several main platforms.

Speaking of that, know that discipline is not a dirty word. It frees our minds to focus on other important things, like, you know, quality of life 🙂 I suggest creating a weekly or monthly schedule to best capture your precious time as well as the time of your audience. What do you think about most on Mondays? How can you brand your Wednesday Wisdom posts? Or whatever! Think about consistency, but also…

It’s important to let yourself live in the moment as well. That’s what humans do best. When you feel magically compelled to share something…DO! Just because your schedule says it’s “Marketing Monday” doesn’t mean you can’t share your joy about an awesome new all organic restaurant you had lunch at. It’s important to show that you’re human too. Be human. People like humans!

Speaking of which…

Share your heart if you dare.

This is hard for a lot of people. They don’t want to put their heart on the line. I get it. And if you don’t want to, don’t. And if you don’t want to share personal pictures, don’t.

BUT!

The best responses I’ve seen are the posts, photos, and videos that let the audience see your vulnerability. When we are brave enough to share our hearts, the world shifts for the better. We change someone (and ourself) for the best. You never know who you are going to inspire, and please know, you always will. Sharing your heart offers trust and creates a genuine relationship.

Interact + care about your audience with boundaries.

I used to have a big problem with this. I would incessantly refresh and check to see if my posts across platforms were being interacted with. It took up a lot of my time that I could have been spending elsewhere. And you know what, it was driving me nuts, I mean no one needs to be spending hours a day on social media. Really, folks, you don’t.

Set out a certain amount of time per day to check interactions. I’d say be flexible with about an hour of your time. During this time, respond to your audience. Ask questions. Care for them as you hope they will care for what you are saying. The golden rule of social?! Hehe…who knows!

Also! Interact with individuals and brands who are in your wheelhouse. Tell them why you like their product or post. Ask them questions. Be curious. Find your tribe. This is a great way to expand your reach and show that it’s not all about you.

Be proud of your product.

Most audiences need direct communication to convert into clientele. Give them clear evidence that you know what you’re doing, you’re doing good in the world, and it’s not just about the bottom line. Have confidence in who you are first and what you do second. So many small businesses, especially the holistically centered ones (I work with these clients most often), are sheepish about tooting their own horn. Please be proud of who you are. Tell them why you do what you do, how to find you, why your work is important, and whatever else comes to mind for you.

Keep tooting my friends!

So, that’s a start. Marketing is necessary, especially for small, holistically-minded businesses, but make it enjoyable for you. What’s your favorite way of communicating? Follow that path! Set up reasonable boundaries, but know when to improvise. Find your tribe and love them hard. You can do it! Of course, if you need some help, I’m only a click away.

Did I miss something or do you have anything you would add to this list? Please share in the comments!
